LIFE PLANNING CHALLENGE

PURPOSE:

Before building a house, architects and engineers

design a floor plan first– like the one to the right! Why

should preparing to build your future be any different?

It’s important to have a plan of action to determine

what you truly want out of life. There are several

categories to help create a plan for your future, but

for this challenge, we are going to focus on five:

1. Family & friends

2. Physical health

3. Career & finances

4. Relationships

5. Mental health

CHALLENGE:

For this challenge, you will create a “floor plan” for

your future– like a map of where you’re going! You’ll

need to write a paragraph for each category (listed

above) that describes what you want in 10 years from

each. Then, you’ll design your own map/floor

plan/puzzle/etc. on poster board or cardstock as a

visual display of your plan of action. For example, the

living room might symbolize family and friends to you

because that’s where everyone gathers or the

backyard might represent physical health because

that’s where you like to play fetch with your dog! Be

creative and think outside the box– we’re talking

about your future after all!
